Malaysia’s Finance Ministry has announced the latest retail fuel prices effective August 7 to 13, 2025. Here’s what Malaysian drivers need to know about the weekly fuel price update:
Diesel Price Increase in Peninsular Malaysia
- Diesel prices in Peninsular Malaysia will increase by 3 sen to RM2.94 per litre for Euro 5 B10 and B20 blends.
- The Euro 5 B7 blend diesel will continue at RM3.14 per litre, which is 20 sen higher than previous rates.
- In Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan, diesel prices remain stable at RM2.15 per litre.
Petrol Prices Stay the Same
- No change in petrol prices this week.
- RON 97 petrol remains at RM3.17 per litre.
- RON 95 petrol continues at the current ceiling price of RM2.05 per litre, as set by the government in February 2021.

Upcoming Fuel Subsidy Plan for RON 95 Petrol
- The recent announcement of a lower RON 95 price at RM1.99 per litre (on July 23) will only take effect when the targeted subsidy for RON 95 starts, planned for September 2025.
- Details of this fuel rationalisation plan will be announced soon.
Important Details
- These fuel prices apply from midnight August 6 until August 13, 2025.
- This marks the 32nd weekly fuel price update in 2025, and the 343rd overall since this weekly pricing format began in 2019.
What This Means for Malaysian Drivers
With diesel prices increasing slightly in Peninsular Malaysia, those using diesel-powered vehicles should expect minor changes in their fuel expenses. Petrol users, however, can enjoy stable prices for now, especially with the government’s targeted subsidy plan on the horizon.
