Infiniti Unveils Three QX80 Limited Editions to Boost Showroom Visits and Brand Appeal

Infiniti is making a bold move to revive its showroom presence and attract new buyers with the announcement of three limited-edition variants of its flagship SUV, the QX80.

While the newly redesigned QX80 already aims to turn heads in the full-size luxury SUV market, Infiniti is taking things a step further by introducing specialized versions designed to appeal to specific types of drivers — from performance lovers to adventure seekers, and even custom car tuners.

Targeting rivals like the Cadillac Escalade V and BMW X7 M60i, the QX80 Track Spec is set to be Infiniti’s answer to high-performance luxury SUVs.

• Estimated 550 horsepower — up by at least 100 hp from the base model

According to Ponz Pandikuthira, Nissan America’s Chief Planning Officer, this variant focuses on performance balanced with long-term durability.

For adventurous drivers, the QX80 Terrain Spec provides a rugged edge while maintaining Infiniti’s luxury DNA.

Key upgrades include:

• Standard powertrain with locking rear differential
• Air suspension with increased ground clearance
• Underbody protection plates and rugged exterior elements
• Optional roof rack storage for overlanding and gear
• Expected to come with smaller wheels and beefier tires

While not a hardcore rock crawler, this variant is designed to offer superior off-road capability compared to the standard QX80, while still delivering a comfortable luxury ride.

Set for unveiling at the 2025 SEMA Show in November, this variant is aimed at the tuning and performance community.

Though exact specifications are still under wraps, Infiniti hints at:

Pandikuthira even described it as “if a GT-R and QX80 had a baby”, teasing a bold and aggressive design that turns heads at tuner events.

• Track Spec and Terrain Spec will debut in concept form at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance this month (August).
• Production models are expected within 12 months.
• Infiniti may build 500–1,000 units of each limited edition — or consider adding them as regular variants depending on interest.
