Ahead of its official launch, Proton has unveiled the e.MAS 5, a compact electric hatchback based on the Geely Star Wish (also known as the Geome Xingyuan). Built on the Global Intelligent New Energy Architecture (GEA) platform, the e.MAS 5 is positioned to compete directly with the BYD Dolphin in the growing small EV segment.

The e.MAS 5 will be offered in two variants:
- Premium: Equipped with a 40.16 kWh CATL LFP battery, delivering up to 325 km of WLTP-rated range.
- Prime: Features a 30.12 kWh battery, capable of 250 km of WLTP-rated range.
Both versions are powered by a rear-wheel-drive (RWD) single “11-in-1” motor producing 85 kW (114 hp) and 150 Nm of torque, enabling 0–150 km/h acceleration in just 3.9 seconds.
Charging options include DC fast charging up to 71 kW, allowing 30%–80% top-up in just 21 minutes, and AC charging at 6.6 kW. The e.MAS 5 rides on MacPherson struts at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear for improved handling comfort.
